A short conversation between my wife and our son:
“I like using the snissors.”
“What were you using them on?”
“I was cutting the ground.”
“You mean the carpet?”
He shows his mischievous smile.
“That’s why you don’t get to use the snissors, babe. You don’t always make the best decisions with them.”
But snissprs are some really good exploration tools.
I LOVE hearing personalized verbage by little ones. My son had several words, ‘ith’ for if, ‘dust’ for just, and a few others. I attributed it to his being constantly on the move and not looking at the mouth to see the true pronunciation. It sounded right. Let’s hope Jakey isn’t one of those kids who wants to trim their own bangs, or their younger sisters…
